President Muhammadu Buhari has said Nigerians have high expectations of the new Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, hence he should not disappoint them.
Buhari made this known while fielding questions from journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, shortly after arriving Nigeria from United Kingdom where he had been in the past 16 days for medical checkup.
The president said: “Well, we went through the system. There was a committee by the Minister of Police Affairs. They gave me some names and he happened to be the one chosen.
“He knows his job, he has been in it for a long time, he went through all the trainings, he has the necessary experience. So, we have a high expectation from him”.
On his medical trip, the President said, “It went very well”, adding that his return would witness continuity.
