In line with President Buhari’s Monday directives to the Nigerian Army to go after Boko Haram terrorists up to their hideouts, report from Borno indicates that the military and members of the CJTF on Tuesday recorded a major feat as they rescued over 200 rice farmers that were abducted by Boko Haram following early Saturday’s massacre of 43 farmers in their farmlands in Jere local government area.
A leader of the CJTF in the state, Alhaji Muazu, who was part of the operation told Daily Correspondents that his boys and soldiers stormed the hideouts of the terrorists at a village in Khaddamari in the early hours Tuesday where they engaged the terrorists in a gun duel that lasted several hours.
Scores of terrorists, he said, died while many fled with gun shot injuries.
He also said over 200 inhabitants of Khaddamari community, mostly rice farmers who were abducted by Boko Haram were also rescued in the operation.
