Malam Baba Sani Adamu, an ex-serviceman and personal driver to President Muhammad Buhari when he was military governor of Borno State has called on the President to assist him live a comfortable life.
Buhari was military governor of the then North-Eastern state (now Borno) between July 1975 and March 1976.
Adamu who currently lives in a dilapidated family house in Ngomari ward of Maiduguri and can barely feed himself, has in a viral video which is in possession of Daily Correspondents, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to come to his assistance.
Adamu’s video has however attracted the attention of some prominent politicians and citizens of Borno State who immediately responded with cash, clothings and food items.
The Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development in Borno State, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo, who visited the ex-service man at his residence in Maiduguri on Thursday, presented assorted food items and an undisclosed amount of money on behalf of the wife of Nigeria’s President, Aisha Buhari.
The Commissioner also promised to secure a befitting accommodation to the ex-service man.
Also, Barister Mustapha Busuguma, the Principal Secretary to the Borno State governor also sent in clothing materials and cash to assist Baba Adamu.
