Mohammed Goni, a former governor of Borno State in the second republic is dead, according to a family source.
He was governor of Borno State between 1979 to 1983.
Details of the cause of his dead is still sketchy as at the time of filing in this report, but our source said he died this evening after battling a brief illness.
His death is coming in less than two weeks after Borno State lost three prominent sons, amongst whom is the Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari, the father to ex-governor of Borno State and the Galadima of Dikwa, Modu Sheriff and the Shehu of Bama, Kyari Ibn Umar El-Kanemi.
