BREAKING: Doctor combines HIV and anti-malaria drugs to cure Coronavirus

A doctor claims his team may have found a cure for the coronavirus wreaking havoc around the world.

Professor David Paterson is hoping to have patients enrolled to trial the drug by the end of March, according to reports.

He told news.com.au: “It’s a ‘potentially effective treatment’ that should be considered for a large scale medical trial immediately.

‘What we want to do at the moment is a large clinical trial across Australia, looking at 50 hospitals, and what we’re going to compare is one drug, versus another drug, versus the combination of the two drugs.”

According to the report, it centres around two drugs. The first used to suppress HIV, while another in an anti-malaria treatment.

He described it as a potential “treatment or cure”.

Prof Paterson said one patient identified as a carrier had a “disappearance of the virus”, the report added.

He continued: “That first wave of Chinese patients we had (in Australia), they all did very, very well when they were treated with the HIV drug.”

At least 350 Australians have been infected by the outbreak since January.
